Recycling is important because it keeps certain items out of our Murrells Inlet landfills. These items could be potentially hazardous if left to rot in landfills; or they are reusable materials that can be repurposed for multiple use. By reusing certain items, like aluminum, paper and plastics, we can save production costs and the amount of energy expended. This in turn can potentially lessen any negative impacts these processes have on our South Carolina environment.
